Perfomance Confusion i7-950 vs i7-2630QM

Hi folks! I have two computers desktop (i7-950) and laptop (i7-2630QM). Windows and 3ds max versions absolutely indentical. Recently I’ve tested one scene on both machines.

So I was very surprised when saw that my laptop did my desktop (1.3 times faster)! Is it normal?

Everything is identical.
Tested my i7-950 CPU on Alpha4 Benchmark. It has the same shitty results :frowning:
I have only 6Gb RAM, could it be a lack of memory?
