Phoenix FD Object properties not working correctly

Hey Guys,

i am not able to adjust alpha contribution in the object properties from a phx fluid. Matte Surface is also not working.
I need the fluid as a cutout for particles but still want the fluid to be visible in the reflection/refraction of the particles.
Am i missing something here? Thank you.

We are using CentOS7, Maya 2018 , Phx 3.12 , Vray 3.60.04

Cheers

Hey there,
I spent a while messing around with the V-Ray object properties options and the Phoenix FD Particle Shader - Matte Surface / Alpha Contribution of (-1) and disabling Primary visibility work on my end.
The liquid is also visible in the reflections of the particles shaded with the foam shader.
I’ve tested with V-Ray 4 and V-Ray 3.60.04 and Phoenix FD 3.12 to be sure there isn’t a compatibility problem.

Would you mind uploading a simple scene for us to check ?
Cheers!

Hey Gosho, here is an example scene.

Ah, I assumed you’re trying this with one of the Mesh modes as you’ve mentioned particles in your original post.

At the moment, the Matte options don’t work for the Volumetric modes. We have this in the TODO list already and we’ll bump the priority on it.

Cheers!

Hi Gosho, any idea when this will make it into a build?

Hey,

This is not gonna be coming to the nightlies soon I’m afraid. Will ping the thread when there is any progress, but it’s at least a couple of months away.

Cheers!
