PhoenixFDOceanTex scale

Hello,
I am trying to use the PhoenixFDOceanTex as a displacement map to create pool water (with Corona in 3dsMax).

My scene’s units are set in centimeters (both the display units and the system units). However the Ocean texture doesn’t work as expected in this scene, when compared to a scene that is set up in meters (where it comes out fine).

Also, the texture preview in the material editor looks different in the two scenes. Please see attached screenshots for a comparison of a scene set up in cm and in meters.

Can you please advise how I can make the Ocean texture work fine in a Centimeters scene? No simulators or other PhoenixFD elements needed in that scene, just the Ocean texture.

Thank you!

Try changing the tiling in the OceanTex to a larger number of the scale of the water is too big, or a smaller number if it is too small.

I have solved the issue and I’m posting it here in case someone finds it useful in the future:

As it seems, when a Corona material uses a PhoenixFDOceanTex for displacement, the scene units are not taken into account. For instance, if you have a scene in meters, and you put 0.1m as a displacement value, everything looks fine. BUT, if you have the exact same scene scaled in cm, and you put 10cm as a displacement value (which should be the same as the first example), the result is exaggerated by 100 times. You have to put a value of 0.1 cm to make it look like the meters scene. SO, what counts is actually the value number of 0.1, no matter what your scene’s units are.
