Photo Match Shadows to Scene

good job morbid!!

And percy.. well …keep trying mate

Elf, hahaha damn.. you spilled your Cup o’ island soup

Here´s my go…it´s far from perfect, but just had some 20 mins playing with it for fun and distraction. I mimiced the reflection of the table on the cup by creating low-poly geometry and camera-mapping it. The main Problem i see (and that would be tough to master! Is the re-creation of the stronger reflection ON the table in the shadow areas (for example close to the cup on the left side)…Well one could create it easily in PS, but i guess that´s not really the point of the excersise…well at least not for most of us lol As a practise this is directly out of max without PS postwork or comping. Some grain and a lil blur was added as a render-effect.

Greetings,
Thorsten

Elf - just try not to get the beach too close to those taxes under my exacto cutting board…

What is Icarus ?

Icarus is a match mover software, it is the predecessor of PFtrack and was available free. If you do a search on www.cgtalk.com I think you can still find a link to download it. it has a module which allows you to recreate a camera by tracing lines on objects on xyz axis.

Thanks RErender. Checking for it now.

ive used it a number of times. pretty snazzy

A photogrametry software, now included in Pixel Farm’s software, PFTrack.
