physical camera fov not recognize by vray

I have a scene with an animated new Physical Cam where I animated the fov and checked specify FOV. But when I hit render with V-Ray, the result is different from what I see in the viewport. The zoom factor is not the same. If I uncheck specify fov, the zoom adjust in the viewport to what I get in the render. It’s like if vray can’t see the specifi fov check box…

I am using V-Ray 3.25.01 rev 26357

Can you post the scene with just the camera and some geometry?

Best regards,
Vlado

Hi Vlado,

here it is thanks!"

I noticed this too with 2016, though for some reason I thought it was a Max2016 bug and not a Vray bug, but maybe it just didnt occurr to me to try mental ray, not sure. What I wound up having to do for an animated “FOV” was animate the focal length instead (with “specify FOV off”) in order for the viewport representation to match the rendered image. It seemed it was the specify FOV that broke it.

Thanks for the tip.

BTW viewport representation of the animated FOV is not updated (Mental Ray too), only Scanline and V-Ray RT seems to get properly FOV values of every frame.
