The attributes are displayed incorrectly and the default settings are different.
I are not sure exactly when this happens. However one way that replicates this problem ever time is:
Open maya
Change to vray render
Create a camera
Add physical properties
Open up extra vray properties on the camera (properties are fine)
Open outliner
Select persp camera
Add physical properties
Open physical properties
This gives an example of the error I am getting.
Once it has happened, any further new scene has the same problem on every camera until I restart maya.
It looks like the Extra Attributes tab, the names there are so long and the attributes are not shown as good as in Extra VRay Attributes tab.
Do you experience same behavior for both tabs?
Which version of Maya and Vray you are using?
The maya extra attributes are like this, the vray extra attributes are fine.
In fact the maya extra attributes are like this from the start, without the need for the replication method mentioned before, I was looking in the wrong place…
I have the same thing here from time to time.
maya2011, 2.004.
when this happens, the only way is to restart maya - then it works normaly.
for me it is a little bug…
James, I was hoping that was the reason, thanks for the confirmation.
Komposer, can you give me some steps to reproduce that? I don’t seem to be able to see it happening.
Attributes show like that in Maya as they are not formatted - Maya just puts all the extra attributes there with a simple interface.
Extra VRay attributes takes into consideration the type of the attributes, etc. to show it with a better view. Thus Maya tab doesn’t look very user friendly. And that is not a bug.
Let me know if you see some issues in Extra VRay Attributes tab, please. And if you could provide steps to reproduce it, it would help greatly!
