So, after we released the teaser for our soon to be launched webshop, polyget, we decided to change all bark and leaf textures, as well improve the models and materials.
We have finally finished all models, textures and materials, and are close to the official launch.
We decided to create this thread for those who would be interested to follow the last step before the finish line.
Ouah amazing !
Bark of the birch is wonderful, and great details everywhere (I like the variation in the large views of grass) !
Do you have a displace map for the birch or is it only geometry ? What soft do you use to model (GrowFx, Speedtree… ?)
Will your catalog integrated in Forest Pro per example ?
Thanks and congratulations
Roland
Thank you Roland !
The trees have displacement maps yes.
We use GrowFx.
Yes the plan is to have forest pack pro library for quick use of the trees.

We agree that there could be some more color variations in the leaves.
We simply prefer that the overall color of the leaves are correct.
The material setup for the leaves is made with vertex color. A simple white to black mask that shifts the base diffuse to a bit lighther diffuse. If you want more color variation you simply have to color shift on the collorcorrect that allready is in the material.
we really appreciate your input. We have looked at these plants for a long time now, so we have properly started to become blind by looking at it too much.
Here is the same images with darker, less saturated diffuse. And less color in the translucency.
We would love to hear other peoples thoughts, what they would prefer.
Bluebox, thanks for your inputs, we really appreciate it
You were right about the variations, so we first of all re-did the leaf materials, as well as added additional textures for more variations up close, and added an instanced multimap for the overall color variations. There is a huge difference!
This preview is straight from the frame buffer and without displacement. You think we’re on the right track?
I bought some of there stuff to test out. They never made anything new after there initial models, and that wasn’t many. Don’t count on them to release anything new.
