# Polygonselection

Hi, the polygonselection doesn’t work at my S24 Vray 5…

Hi @HarrySeidl , can you check the V-Ray console for warnings or errors (Extensions → Console → V-Ray **or** Shift + F10)?  
I suspect that the problem in your case is that a single material is used multiple times on the same object - this is not currently supported, regardless if there is a polygon selection for one of the material assignment.

is it planned to support the same material on multiple selections?  
this is very common and duplicating materials is a bad solution .-)

I agree that duplicating materials is not a good solution, even for a temporary workaround it may be annoying to have to change multiple parameters in duplicated materials.  
We have logged it internally for improvement, but the change is not an easy one and may take longer to fix.
