I was wondering if someone in the know could please point me in the right direction. The attached image was taken from the Vray Scatter demo and what I want to know is how to create the background haze, glare…….etc. I’m assuming it is a after effects thing and I would greatly appreciate any help.
Zdepth plz Thats how they do it, Its great filter because it work on distance, then u can use it to color corect background/blur and so on. With Mtl ID/matt+Zdepth its quite easy to get
F10 > Render Elements > VRayZdepth > Set up settings, it will give u Depth B&W map, based on distance from camera. Then u can use it to create fog/haze/zdepth and so on. As much as u want, also create on the way Matte/MTLID to have more control over objects
Thanks…….I gave it a try and I ended up with something like this….see attached. It looks like it generated some type of mask with an alpha channel. I thought the darker areas would have the most opacity and lighter areas more opaque. Opened up the image in PS and attempted to overlay it onto the still image but it seems, the darker area was not the clearest. It seems I’m doing something wrong. Any ideas?
Hey eee the map color doesn’t really matter as long as its distance is right…errr hard to explain… go to Filter>Blur>Lens Blur and use this eee hang on…
1. Open image RGB + Add this map to ur layer list(no matter above or below just hide it)
2. CTRL+A to select map (Depth one) CTRL+C Copy map. Go To chanel next to layers and create new layer. Click on it and CTRL+V to pass
3. Go back to Layers, select RGB, then Filter>Blur>Lens blur. Pick as ur alpha in options the map u pasted. Then adjust setings and tats ur dof. U can also click on image to get more control.
Further more u can use this map to create more effects, fog and so on, also u can contrast it/invert and so on. Mixing with other maps like Noise, or MTL ID or Wire etc etc could give u even more control over images … Good luck let me know how it went
