Pot!

Hello to All

This is my very first post on this forum, however, I’ve been a long time lurker here, probably for several years now.

This is one of my personal works, quite off far from the archviz I do every day. Nothing special, just the well known Utah-teapot. It was made as a gift for my father, printed and framed. The second image is a crop from the original render size. Hope you like it!

Best regards,

A.

p.s.: I don’t really know how well our server works from abroad, so the images links might be broken. In this case, could someone suggest me a decent image host, until the issue is resolved?

Love it!

really nice attention to details in the materials, and the lighting set up works for me too.

Lol, this is excellent !!

Nice attention to the details

It took me 5 seconds to understand that the big teapot was actually a void ! I maybe need some sleep

have to say its rather fatastic… nice idea

and good colours too in my opinion.

Wow, really nice. I love the idea, and the renderings are very artistic.

I’m not really sure what’s going on here, is this a hole in the wall?

Excellent metal material!

awesome! easy and cool. Really like it!

Fantastic idea!!!

Great! Love it.

great concept and awesome result!
welcome on board!

I had a look at them earlier today on a lcd screen and definitely it didn’t make your images justice. now that I can see them on a proper monitor they just look awesome. really like it.

That IS awesome!!

Well done.

I dont suppose you could share the scratch map you used on that teapot? I have been looking for one for ages and that looks really good!!

Very original shoot.
Nice use of material…
Compliments

Outstanding…!

Wow, thanks for all theese positive comments!

Rivoli, I don’t really know how the images look on a decent display, since I don’t have any, just LCD’s roughly from the middle of the quality range, but I’ve made several test prints during the making, and adjusted the colors, curves, until most of the details were visible, and the gradients came out smooth enough on print.

DaForce, I would share the final map If I still had it, however most of this scene was lost recently during a system reset I had to do, but the source map is here, quite lowres, something I had on my harddrive for ages, I used it mainly for the scratch orientation, hope it can be of some use.

Best regards,

A.

your images look very well adjusted to me, actually they helped me realize how crappy is that lcd of mine

Thanks for the map, I think I may have seen that before.. sure is familar.
So you built up your own map in PS?

Cheers

Rivoli, well, it looks weird on the LCD’s here in the office too. Sometimes I miss my old lowbudget crt, but than again, I don’t miss the aching eyes…

DaForce, I’ve used that old map to draw some curves in PS, just to have a natural looking scratch distribution as far as I can remember, but since the metal teapot is quite small even in the highres render, I guess it was just some wasted work on that. The old map itself was used as a diffuse map too.

Best regards,

A.

How did you round the edge of the teapot hole and the wall?

Very sweet render indeed, btw welcome

Perfect !!!

I love it…
