When this was released, a guy on another forum took their formula and made his own in java within the hour. Using a comparison pic and ‘difference’ blending in photoshop, the result was very vague noise.

I’ll have a dig for it if anyone is interested in having a play, although it lacks the paint tools to prioritise certain areas.
