Hello Forum,
im getting no correct DOF, even if iam working with a null object as a target which is placed at the correct position. In the beginning of the animation it works but when iam movin the camera closer to the product the hole image gets blured.
Ich doubled cheked everything and everything is on the right place. Someone had some similar issues?
Latest (v14.1.1 // R2024 // W10) working fine…
which units and what scale do you use?
camera settings (lens&sensor)?
exemplary file and steps to reproduce?
here’s a quick test

PS
Tho, I’ve experienced Cam. “Focus Distance” defaulted/jump to 1 µm on rndm occasions. But not recently.

Hello, and sorry for my late response. Look i extracted the main parts from my sequence so you can see what iam struggling with. The red cube should be focused all the time isnt it?

Yes, your Camera parent “Scale” (Null) is animated (ain’t 1), and you’re ‘witnessing’ offset.
Ok but i have it connected the Focus Point to a target, this is Not working at all?
It’s working correctly.
But your setting (specifically scaled parent) means that all child Spaces change relatively and in whole (dimensions, distances, relations …) so with that even focal point is displaced (virtually offset).
Also, using large iris (small f-stop) emphasizes this – and you’re left w/ extremely shallow DOF, impossible to focus.
See for yourself what happens when you move your “DOF” target closer to camera (tip: smaller scale - smaller distance).
