Maybe the base of the wall where the light pass through the wall and the floor? Or what?
I think that with much indirect illumination vray lose some details shadows, but I’m not a great user of this great package if u can help me with this some problem I’ll appreciate so much
Can U send parameters for material if (wrapper) for the wall, lighting settings, and rendering parameters for vray?
Congratulation for your works always very clear and good quality THEMAXXER
bye
I mean that I understand his problem about the dark corners, and I really cant find a way to deal with that problem! I m always fighting with this too…
Hi Maxxer, I have been meaning to see what happens if the corners are rounded or chamfered, our modeles are always perfect corners but in real life they are rounded. maybe this way some light will bounce back out of the corners, just an idea but maybe …
I was never able to get good results with phonton map… and this is the major reason, try irradiance map instead, It would be easier and cleaner, and probably faster
From your settings I ve change Retrace threshold to 0, unckeck auto search dist and change the Max density to 3.0, to prevent memory issues with phontons. Then on Vray light properties, you can increase the light subdivisions without problems.
In my case, that dark corners problem appeared in the latest version (03a). Before that, I was using 02q so I don’t know precisely with what release it came along, but the differences are obvious.
Even when I raise the secondary bounces multiplier, the problem persists. Well, not exactly … let’s say that the contrast between the dark and lit areas is too brutal, no matter how high the multipliers are. In other words, the GI effect is not smooth enough.
