We seriously need a progress bar for this!
I often give up and have to kill max because the thing looks like its not doing anything. A progress bar will at least tell you how far still to go, and it it is actually doing something or REALLY hanging…

I totally agree, this needs to be addressed.
You mean the one on the RMC menu?
In case, would the max’s own progress bar (below the timeline, very bottom) suffice?
The bar wouldn’t reflect timing, nor be able to provide for an ETA, as there are too many unknowns which will impact performance, so we can only provide, in case, for a percentage, which may or may not mitigate the issues you’re having now (ie. it’d get stuck at some % and sit there, perhaps.).
It would also be beneficial for us to see such instances of conversion failure, or excessively long conversion time.
Providing a scene (or ten!) would be gold!
