We have encountered a really strange problem in a project using Revit 2019.2 and VRay 4.00.03 - In our project VRay proxy replacement doesn’t work for families in the “planting” and “entourage” categories.
Instead the objects render with their Revit viewport geometry. If we change the family type to “casework” or “generic model” proxying works fine in VRay (although the project team is not happy about what that workaround does to takeoffs):
The example file shows this happening with Enscape library object proxies, but it works exactly the same way if we create a simple extrusion as a family and attempt to proxy it out.
This gets weirder because this problem does not occur in the Revit default house scene, only in our project (the attached stripped-down file was saved out from our project).
Except that if you add an Enscape entourage object to the default house scene, it won’t proxy until you change its family to “casework” or “generic model.” But other members of the Entourage and Planting groups continue to proxy just fine.
