But I guess the crazy price and low availablility of the PS3 arnt helping.
I would hope the Wii is out selling the PS3 as they have double the units available. PS3 sold 300,000+ units in 1 day the Wii sold 600,000+ in 8 days.
I think once more PS3 flood the market they will ctach up to Nintendo’s #'s. Out of all the console launches ever, the Wii has out sold everyone in it’s first week.
Anyone else snag one yet? My local Target has been sporting 2 to 4 new units each Saturday…
we’ve just got a ps3 in our living room only a few days ago, and in the uk, this is something of a rare-ity. My only comment is that i hope the european launch has much, much better launch titles.
One the other hand, we also got a Wii, and it has been the most fun with absoluetly everyone who’s played it. People are genuinely shocked at the complete abstraction of an interface - quite simply, to play the tennis game, you play tennis. Bowling is bowling. It’s amazing. In my humble opinion, the Wii is the largest step forward in gaming that has ever been - more significant that the leap from 2d to 3d. And i don’t say that lightly. I really think that Sony has underestimated nintendo this time…
With the PS3, i was amazingly underwhelmed; it held my attention for about 4 minutes, compared to a Wii, which in my experienced hasn’t had a bad word said against it by everyone who i’ve introduced it to.
Sorry to rain on your parade about this, but in such a competitive market; sony - try harder. People shouldn’t be taken for idiots - a 500quid price tag, for something that looks nothing better than ps2 in my opinion. You’ve just got to look at the accomplised games like God of War on ps2 - this easily stands up to Resistance and Genji which i played. Half life 2 was way better than resistance, and i played this easily over a year ago.
Blueray, etc. - its a games machine at the end of the day, and the games i played sucked.
again, sorry - nothing personal, but it’s just my opinion of ps3.
:roll: While I agree the wii is groundbreaking, bear in mind the ps3 launch was for all intents and purposes a total failure.
Sorry about the large images. Those tyre tracks are created in real time, depending on how you drive, your speed, and the weight of your car. It changes the geometry and material too, so pools can form to slide through and ridges affect how you drive.
Also bear in mind this is very early first gen on a console which is notoriously hard to develop for with very strange architecture.
The wii may still come out on top, but ‘no better than a ps2’ is the most ridiculous thing Ive heard in a long time.

Resistance, and Genji, (the only games i’ve played so cannot comment on others) look no better than some of the later ps2 games.
I couldn’t want more for the ps3 to be a huge success - if your a gamer then you want today’s games to offer the best experience yet… For me, the wii did this in a such a way as to leave me gobsmacked, and playing it every day from then on; the ps3 held my attention for a matter of minutes, but as i said, i hope for the european launch there will be some decent titles…

The Wii is to be given props for the path they have chosen. Only time will tell how it performs for them in the long run. I really want a Wii, and the wife says i can get one after the new year, but I’m going to rent one before I decide. I like more ‘adult’ games for the most part.
Yeah the Wii is pretty sweet.. Thinking of getting one for my GF for xmas.. but at the shop the other day she didnt seem all too wrapped about it. Mainly cause of the game sellection at the moment i think. And her fav game.. “rayman” is now a multiple minigame style game as opposed to a mario type of game.. which is a shame. So abit undecided..*sigh*
im looking forward to playing old nintendo games. Ive never actually owned one, so theres many to play.
im thinking about a wii for “all” the spare time i dont have 
LOL, I know the feeling, I’d heard on the grape vine that Xmas was next week!! But due to the stupidlly large work load i’ve got at the mo, im not to sure if i’ll be seeing to much of it

looks to be going the way of ssx on the ps2, and its supposed to be amazing to play.
Please tell me one PS2 game that looks better than Resistance: Fall of Man? If I compare just the sports games from PS2 to PS3 it is by far a night and day comparison. Now if you don’t have a HD TV I can see why you would think it doesn’t look good., as most of the new games on the market are made to run in HD rather than the standard 480.
Games like Ridge Racer, Need for Speed Carbon by far look superior over their PC counterparts " In my opinion" but either or the content is the same and the games play just as well. Most of the games I am looking forward to are not rolling out for another 3 to 6 months “Motor storm, The White Council, FF13, and a few others” But I can also mention that Blue Ray movies or any movie that can be seen in 1080p is beyond worth it… If you haven’t seen it yourself it just isn’t explainable.
To note my roommate has a Wii and well I just can’t handle the crap graphics, call me a high end junkie, but I would much rather have a 360 or PS3 over a Wii. If I wanted to play my old school games I would unpack my NES… But I will say Zelda is the only good looking game on the Wii.
