quicktime panorama's

Hi,

I’m looking for a very easy program that makes:
- quicktime panoramic movie from a spherical camera render with fov set to 360°
- quicktime movie of an object so that you can rotate around the object (movie created from for example 36 renders by moving around the object)

What do you guys use to create this?

Thanks,

I’ve done one of these and I used panotools. Once you’re in the room, click on the ptviewer link.

try this one here:

you can change my script to output a cubic enviroment:
change

(matchpattern (renderers.current as string) pattern:“vray*”)
to
(matchpattern (renderers.current as string) pattern:“xyz*”)

the script will then use the code for the scanline renderer which outputs to six files and stitch it then together. The six files will saved to a folder and can be dropped into gocubic, which then generates the mov file.

you can splitt the spherical file also with ptstitcher.

btw, i’m working on a simple script which let you output a applet based object panorama.. make a circleshape around an object , pick it and voila… at least kind of.

i use a simple (and i think free) plugin that comes with a redicilously small software called “gocubic”. look it up, and if you don’t find it in the web mail me at noam_farhi@yahoo.com and i’ll send it to you. it’s really small and simple.

max’s design extensions allow you to do this…

I’ve been using VR ObjectWorx from

http://www.vrtoolbox.com/vrthome.html     for $99.

Flipside, if you have your 36 images you can mail them to me and I will compile them into a QTVR. It only takes a minute…

Ok thanks all! I think I’ll go for the vr objectworx.

The gocubic is good for panoramic movies.

thanks

I’m using vr objectworx too, works ok, but it’s painly slow to load the images, anyone with the same problem? Also if you put 36 pics together as a qtvr then when you play the qtvr movie it starts with frame 18, anyone have that problem too?

Yes it is just slow… Nothing to do about it i guess.

The poster view and initial image determine your first image.

What?

after some research i have found a javascript code which can do *simple* one row objectmovies from jpg’s:
http://www.panoramafactory.com/komodo\_how.html

here is a sample:

here the script which generates the images and the html page:
http://www.cgtechniques.com/goodies/objectpano/objectpano01.zip

howto:
Draw a circleshape (will be the camerapath) around the object, start script, pick circle, pick target, give filename(jpg or gif) and let the script render the images…

Ohhh my… how could I have been this stupid… DOOH!!!

hehehe

hey thomas, do the numbers under your barcode avatar actually have some kind of meaning? Or is it just random?

They have meaning, and the lines is tied to the numbers too, not just random lines.

/Thomas

Ok now you make me curious…

*Prints out barcode and runs down to local shop*

Trixian: I’m not THAT stupid :stuck_out_tongue:

/Thomas

*update.. thought you meant bank.. but if you take the barcode to the store all it will come up with is the numbers under the barcode.

The two thin lines stands for the “6” and if you look carefully you can see on every barcode on the world that there are two thin lines on the left, in the middle and on the right… 666 ..and this means the barcode is the mark of the beast! hui! *g*

666 (more serious but still funny)
