C&C’s welcome
Geoff

Geoff - these are fantastic, ticks all the boxes of design content, composition, lighting etc etc etc… cheers. Always interested to hear more about the setup & settings :smile:

fantastic.just it.

i wonder if you were using the linear workspace also.

This’ll have to do? Cheeky bastid!

Fantastic work.

Really nice job, evereything looks great, except the material of the barcelona chairs, wich looks a little weird. Don’t get me wrong, it is really good, it just does not stand to the level of the rest of the image.

:shock: :shock: :shock:

Perfect.

Can you share the settings of the glass?

thanx

Thanks for the comments

@Robur My settings are more or less like serge.
His tutorial can be downloaded at vismasters.com
You have to register to download it.
It’s nothing special to be honest. vray planes in windows etc.

@dominiquelaksmana I don’t use linear workspace.

@joconnell hee hee

@thablanch - I must admit I didn’t spend any time on it.
Shit forgot to say that the chair is by zuliban :sweat_smile:

@fabrizio I’ll dig out the glass settings

great!
the wood for the ceiling goes trough the wall, in the 1st image, doesnt seem right?

@fabrizio glass settings

based on percys benchmark scene.
Reduced the green a little.

@Joost Ink It’s a loft converted into a flat?
It did bother me a little but ran out of time.

Great Job geoff …

good work.

Nicely done. The wall texture is great. The Barcelona chairs are bugging me though. They are far too reflective. (I actually have an original in that color). Other than that, it’s a great set of renderings.

beautifull! I really like the close shot. 8)

personally I dont see a purpose of life for renders like final render…after such images.

Your designs are always wonderful but I must say, you need to change profession and start doing 3d full time. Unless these images are taking you 2 weeks to complete you could be be a top tear pixel jocky at just about any firm you went to. You really have an eye for this stuff.

Outstanding work, as usual. I guess you can tell, I’m a big fan of your work and would like to see more of it. Something other than stairs.

Also, I really like the wood textures you use in your work. Where do you get them?

Simply stunning as always Geoff. Just the Barecelona’s that need tweaking, the rest of the texturing is spot on.

Wow. thanks for the praise guys.
Yeah there are a few other things that bother me on these renders, namely the texturing around the windows is a bit dodgy. The floor texture is a bit lo res too. I’ll adjust these one day.

@TRGraphics yeah I so want to do 3d full time. This has taken me a while to do, but I only do an hour a night every now and again and I’ve tweaked the design as I’ve gone on. Most of my work for Spiral was done in about 1 to 2 days for each render.
The wood texture I made myself, with my camera. My floor textures I normally get off floor manufactures websites, and stitch them together and colour correct as necessary.

I’ve got to sort out a portfolio which means this will be my last stair design for a while :frowning: I love designing stuff too :frowning:

Geoff

I must say I love your stair! Is it your design? Will it be built somewhere?

Daniel

edit: One thing, the brick wall seems a bit flat. Just that Otherwise A great rendering. I have to check out that gamma thing…

Great work geof!
I agree about the wall texture and your chamfer are a bit to big IMO (on the roof).

Absolutely fabulous work!
You should try some exterior scenes if you really want to play - and I’d definately recommend at least some PT work in 3D - you’ve got real talent.
