This is my first image post since joining the forum. Its a scene inspired by photos of new zealand forests and done while I had some downtime at work.
Everything is proxied except the ground and stream.
I tried comping in Gollum on one of the rocks but it looked a bit rubbish.
Very nice indeed!
It’s allways pleasure for me to see beautiful vegetation in cg… My compliments!
May I ask you for the tips to make rocks because I am doing something with plants and rocks?
Thanks
Very nice. Would love to know exacly how you went about creating those plants and rocks. Very impressive. My only crit is the vingietting (spelling!!!) is a bit harsh.
Turned out very good, although the vignetting around the sky looks a bit much. Shame you didnt do a residential wooded area, I couldve done with pillaging some ground cover…
jujubee - someone at work also suggested a plane wreck poking out the trees might work. NZ has real dinosaurs still, if you dont believe me just google/image ‘Giant Weta’!
visumporec - my tip for rocks is nick em from archexteriors vol.3, scene 10!
Aldaryn - thanks, yep i think most of them are from evermotion.
tricky - thanks, yeah i agree on the vignetting but i havent learnt the art of subtlety yet. The rocks as i mentioned above are from archexteriors, for the plants I just got together a selection of different species and used the scatter tool to pack out the scene, then just deleted the ones I didnt want from the path and stream. Colour correct and reflection is on everything then its just a matter of matching all the greens up so nothing stands out.
Yep the grass is displaced. The path is detached from the grass and mapped seperately, map was created in PS from various textures. This is a section of it:
Looks really good and lush. The only thing which bothers me is a front, right rock. Too close to the camera and looks too much as a prop. If I were you, I’d delete it from the scene. Appart from that-great atention to details and nice mood. Great effort. Keep it up…
