Realflow to Max 2016 motion blur problem

Hi There,

We have a simple simulation from RealFlow exported as bin. We converted to vrmesh using ply2vrmesh tool. In Max 2016 loaded as animated vrayproxy but we can not get the motion blur working. I have attached render. The object on the right is the sim from RealFlow, the left ball is animated vrayproxy exported from Max with perfect MB. Any ideas what we doing wrong?

Many thanks.

I think in this case you need to specify the velocity channel during conversion -

-velocityAttrName <name> - specifies the name of the point attribute which
should be used to generate the velocity channel. By
default the ‘v’ attribute is used.

-velocityOffset <offset> - specifies that the starting position should be
offset by a fraction of the velocity channel, f.e. -0.25.
Only valid for .geo, .bgeo and .bin files.

Hi Dmitry. Thank you for you reply. I have try the new command line, but still i received the same result:
ply2vrmesh -velocityAttrName v -velocityOffset -0.25 D:\W\ParticleMesh01_*.bin

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Are the realflow bin files saved with velocity data to start? Like if you try to render it using the realflow bin loader will it work?

Yeah you’d need to check that velocity is exported from realflow in the first place. Also, whats the reason to convert them to vrmesh, its doubling up your process, if you can render bin directly its better that way imo.
