Rebus Renderfarm

For that reason everyone use rebusfarm for animation

Having just tested this, as I suspected, using 1x Rebus machine costs just the same as using 100x Rebus machines: it just takes 100x longer! Not sure where you got your information from but it is wrong.

Everytime you send the render to rebusfarm, rebusdrop informs you of this; stating that using DR costs a lot more. I haven’t tried it myself as I always use DR.

Yep! It’s right there in the initial dialog box. Like my daughter would say, Booyah!

Is that because it switches you from economy to premium pricing when using DR then?

Yes, I believe so[quote=“Neilg, username:Neilg”]

LOL maybe I should start offering rendering support, I have 2 farms and for the most part at least one or both are not being used for days/weeks at a time…

I tried one out of China. They reached out to me on Facebook. Their uploaded was running at 14k; it would have taken a month to transfer all the assets. They told my to just upload to Dropbox and they’ll download it, render it out, and email me the still. I abandoned the idea.

Interesting, I got that information from Rebus. Thing is you pay for the loading/unloading time of render jobs so if you have 30 machines for DR that is a lot of loading and unloading time you have to pay for.

You are still welcome to use my machines Bobby

I’ll probably reach out to you a few weeks :)[quote=“bdancer, post:6, topic:47188, username:bdancer”]

I just launched two renders on rebusfarm… That was lightning fast… 10€ for 2 4k renders distributed… :impressed: It took more time to download and upload… as usual
When you take the time to really adjust settings, those new xeon they have seem to be massive performers..

I must be doing something wrong I’ve never even paid as little as €25 per image. My last one even took €110 at 4500px.

I rarely had so cheap ones  Generally they are 60-70€ for 4000px * 2250px.
I found 10€ for the two images was so low I got worried when downloading them, but they’re fine.

Do you render with BF + LC?? Lots of trees/grass; glass?

Those were interiors IR + LC with almost no vegetation. BUt lots of glossies.

Ah that must’ve been it. I had +100 lights, everything glossy except for the glass, BF, lots of vegetation reflecting,..etc not the smartest setup either and the settings were quite lazy too.

That explains everything  Well sometimes, 110€ for an image isn’t excessive with such things as deadlines and pressing clients

For me the issue is when the calculator says $20 and the final is $120.

Well my issue is that the last 7-10 nodes are very slow and more or less double, sometimes triple the price.
