Rectangle light setting

i compare enscape to other rendering machine

i hope enscape can improve the quality of shadows and lighting, i just put lighting with rectangle light in 2 different render engine,

can you tell me enscape to achive that kind of lighting quality (like in the left render picture) ?

because that is so simple, just put rectangle light and resize it with sketchup, and the result is better…

i’m sorry, because i really hope enscape get better and better, not only fast and easy but, can get great quality,..

thank you.

Hey @mm3d.arsitektur , thanks a lot for your post!

Due to technical limitations our rectangular lights also have a certain size limit - may I generally ask why you’re making use of the rectangle lights, I suppose to get even lighting overall? Also, I can see a bit of light leaking in the Enscape rendering, to help with that please kindly check out my dedicated FAQ article here! And the corresponding excerpt which should be of interest to you:

“This behavior can be resolved/improved by increasing the thickness of the corresponding geometry or by creating a second non-transparent wall behind, and in some cases, if you have a rather large ground plane in your project, reducing its size is known to help as well.”

Finally, could you kindly let me know what you’re missing when it comes to the shadows in the Enscape rendering? The shadows do look very similar to the left rendering for me, besides the fact that it looks like there is a bit of a gap between the ceiling and the wall? If there is no gap, you can gladly send me the project file so that I can have a closer look at that. I’d appreciate that!

Thank you in advance!
