Rectangle Light to Affect Certain Material or Rhino Object only?

Hi all,

Is it possible to have Vray’s rectangle light in Rhino reflect/shed light only on a certain material or object (in this case, infinite plane ground) and not on the other objects in my scene?

I’m trying to brighten up the ground (I want it silverish but a lighter shade that what it currently is) and playing with multiple lights kinda works but not optimal. Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

There is no include/exclude object list option for lights in V-Ray for Rhino. To handle your case, you can attempt one of the following workflows:
- Set up the scene lighting as if preparing a real one and attempt adjusting the Infinite plane material afterward.
- Create a Wrapper material, slot within the material you’ve used on the Infinite plane and then apply the Wrapper on the plane. Run interactive rendering and increase the Wrapper’s GI Affect > Receive GI value until you get a desirable result..

Kind regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the workflow suggestion!

Hi Peter,

Based on the workflow you provided, I made a simple scene in Rhino to try to exclude the light reflections on the floor.

I must have set the material incorrectly and did not come out to do this result

Could you please share more detailed setup steps for this workflow? I would like to achieve the following result in this reference image

Attach the Rhino file of this scene again

Looking forward to your reply, thank you very much!
