Rectangular light bug

Hi,

I think there’s a bug with rectangular lights. With object in front it somehow prevents the light shining through the whole lenght.

See attached example.

Pardon @jure_1 , I may be missing something obvious here but, what is the behavior you would expect exactly? Both light sources seem to give off a cone of the same size. If you wish to have a larger spotlight on that object, you may actually also want to try using a spotlight, in combination or alone as a replacement.

Hi!

The problem is that light is not emmited across the lenght of the rectangular light. The expected behaviour would be that the light is uniform across it’s lenght/width. This is clearly not the case in this example since light is focused in the center of the rectangular light.

What’s even weired is that the widht of the emmited area gets bigger (and more correct) if I increase the thickness of the wall.

@jure_1 , thank you for your patience - I’ve discussed this with our developers now and they will file this as a bug report accordingly. In the meantime, if possible depending on the project, we recommend not using super thin walls but rather increase the thickness as you did before.

Hi,

thanks for the info. Making thicker walls is not always an option. I found better workaround by tilting lamps a bit and then they work better.
