Well one thing in the globals…
switch of refr and switch of refl as seperate options… and also seperated, the glossines for them.

as a hotfix, you could use the global material replacer i posted in this section, here:http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13714
It allows you to do just that, if on a per-material basis (All the reflective, all the refractive, all the glossy reflective, all the glossy refractive can be switched off for the feature in question)
