Hi,
I already post something about it in the past without official answer:
here:
result:
I have a fresnel reflection, 1.4 1.55 ( as usual)
I set in the filter, a bitmap (the same for transparency of diffuse slot)
in the diffuse slot, I have my bitmap + the black and white (with values of 0 and 255,255,255) for the transparency map. All the maps have a 0.4545 gamma overridden.
So what can I do if I want a reflection only on the applyed decal ? thank you.
Jp
If I put it into the glass, it’s ok. But in the case where I want to apply a decal map with reflective layer on something that it’s not glass and in addition really unreflective (like concrete) I won’t be able to do it this way.
Please.
Jp
OK, you want to stick a glossy label at a concret wall?
lowest layer - diffuse: concrete texture
next layer - diffuse: label texture + transparency map
next layer - fresnel reflection: filter color not needed. Set reflection color fresnel → set the white fresnel color black (this is the active control around the label area - black means no reflection) + set this fresnel color with a transparency map in decal mode.
I will create a tutorial for this case. Not today, but if I forget it, please remember me.
micha, thanks a lot.
Can I still keep my concrete on a single material for a solid wall and do a little rectangle srf just 0.1 millimiter in front and do the :
“diffuse: label texture + transparency map
And
next layer - fresnel reflection: filter color not needed. Set reflection color fresnel → set the white fresnel color black (this is the active control around the label area - black means no reflection) + set this fresnel color with a transparency map in decal mode.”
without having this countour ? This is the way I proceed now. I don’t map a texture on a big plane but I do a surface offsetted just for my labels.
I think there is more chance that your method doesn’t produce my problem for sure ! but if I still keep my offset srf… i don’t know.
Time to test again,
Thx ! Jp
