Found the problem. The drops are refracting the background, behind the object.. strange..
I just copy the object and put a displacement modifier with a water drop texture and water level on it. So it should refract the object it was copied from, since it’s in the same position and the displacement goes outwards…
Hmm, I tried the same thing in a dummyscene, and then it worked.
First image is of two planes in the same position. One of them with a displacementmap and water level on.
The second image shows the displaced plane with a fully refractive material and Red color as refractive override color in the render settings. It looks as it should.
The problem is that when I do this on my cad object, the water drops on top of the object refracts the background, and not the underlying plane… And there are alot of objects behind the cad object as well, and those are not refracted either..
Here is the actuall render. You can see the red drops in the top left. It’s a copy of the object with a displacement map and water level on. The drops are red because they refract the background - Override refraction slot in the render settings. There are alot of objects behind this one, so even if it doesn’t refract the object that it was copied from, it should refract the other ones and not the background…
