Hi,
i am trying to implement the same Reinhard color mapping into Nuke.
I have been eyeballing the settings till now, but i am now trying to move to a more controlled workflow where i can preview using the vray color mapping, but render final in linear and micro tune in nuke, but on the basis of the same curve.
So, i am asking if it possible to know the implementation algorithm of the reinhard curve in vray, including the controller slider to match the settings in nuke.
I wasn´t able to find some clear explanation on google.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Thorsten, i have read the documentation but it was unclear to me the way i should blend the two extremes.
If i blend them straight forward like the mix knob in the nuke nodes should it be ok? is it the same as flatenning the exponential curve?
i am not too experimented on the math side.
Thanks again.

I’d say linearly blend the results. I’d say gizmo up an exponential and a linear one, and linearly blend them. Vlado would prolly know better. I am not using Reinhard for anything so i would not know first hand.

Thorsten
Thanks man. Will try tomorrow.
A while back somebody posted these images on this forum as an example for what the Rheinhard curves does.
I believe you can reproduce these curves in nuke with the colorlookup.
Hi there,
my name is Giacomo, I might sound new but I was previously registered with a different userID and company.
I’m interested as well in recreating the reinhard color mapping in nuke. Until now I’ve tried to match it with a colorLUT but I have the feeling it is not 100% right.
Does anyone have a better workflow?
Vlado can you please give us some more infos?
Kind Regards,
Giacomo.
