I know the RGB input on blend shaders can be sketchy, so Im not suprised this cropped up…and I feel like its happened before. If I have render layers, and a blend shader has an override for the blend amount of a layer, that override gets set the master layer, and therefore all other layers.
example…Ive got a road shader in the base of a blend shader, and a coat layer I have a white shader for rendering shadows or whatnot. I have my beauty layer for the road, and I have this “chalk” pass layer…I set an override on the blend amount so the chalk shader renders…but on the master layer and all other layers, it should render as road…only on the chalk road layer does it turn white, as you would expect since it is the only layer with an “ON” override…but the whole scene now shows the blend amount as white / on.
I could, and will, use a switch shader next time…but its annoying that in so many instances, the blend amounts on so many vray nodes are unreliable…they either dont animate, or they dont work with overrides. In many cases they need a float texture or a colour constant plugged in to make them work as expected.
