I just wanted to get some feedback as to my lighting render settings as it pertains to this image as well as feedback on the lighting itself in the image. Any comments are appreciated..thanks!!
scene

2 vray lights (shape/size of flourcent lamps): mult=25, store IR=off, samples= 20
there is a image-mapped plane behind the camera creating the reflection in the glass
render settings..
AA sampler = adaptive QMC, 1/4. mitchel-netravali
GI: on, first bounce 1.0, IR, second bounce 0.7, QMC
IR MAP: -4/-3, Hsph=30, C,N,D =0.4, 0.4, 0.1
Env: skylight=on, almost white, 0.12; reflect=on, black, 1.0
QMC sampler = noise th 0.003, 8/1.0
Color mapping= linear, bright 1.0, dark 2.0
The walls are just bump mapped since its a head on view and the effect is kinda subtle. Yea, I will add some more grunge and stuff to it…
By the way, does anyone know how I could render the glass window and the rest of the scene separately since I need to put people in the room. Would that just be doing a separate reflection pass or would I have to a whole separate render of just the glass??
as the others mentioned it could do with some dirt or perhaps a bit of variation between the brick colour and the mortar on the walls - even if it is supposed to be all painted the same colour you’d probably still see some variation…
the bump is maybe a bit too strong as well…
i like the subtle details in the reflection on the glass
