yesterday i spoked bout v-ray n rendernodes with my manager, n hes ready to setup one render node…
so i checked those sites n take a dessision to buy one rendernode from boxx…
, i never did network rendering,so my qustion is if i buy one v-ray is it enough to install on my workstation n that render node, or is it a standalone …only can install once on one system?
help me guys bout this n suggest me what all i need to get to setup a good render node with v-ray …
i have one doubt, did we need to buy a seperate monitor , keybord, mouse etc for this render node ?, or can i connect it to our network and controlled from my workstation?
you can control it easily from the network using max’s backburner…but you may want to see what its doing now and then. A cheap monitor and keyboard shouldnt set you back that much and should suffice…or you could use a keyboard/monitor/mouse switch and perhaps share your existing ones. It works well on 2 of our rendering machines.
either buy a KVM with 4-8 channels ( for future rendernodes perhaps ) or u can use remote desktop, wich i use often to check jobs etc. from home ( still need a monitor and ps/2 for boot i think ).
Its pretty good, and seems better at somethings than VNC, like it has better screen updates. As long as you have the colors set to 65000 or what ever it is in its preferences.
