One year ago I wrote “The most important use of a render node is, that you can work further on your scenes on the workstation and the render node renders your images at the same time. My problem is, when I save a scene, wich is opened on the workstation the Backburner quits rendering the same scene with an “109 3dsmax adapter errror. The pipe has been ended”. This happens even if I work on the scenes, which are loaded into the scene as Xrefs, that Backburner is rendering.” I got no answer for this issue so far.
Now the problem is much heavier because now the render process quits when I save a file in that directory which has nothing to do with the scene, which is rendering at the same time. I can understand when a file is saved which is rendered on another computer to have the latest chnges in the rendering. But I can not understad why the same happens when I save a file which has nothing to do with it. The problem doesnt happen in all my project, only in some of it, which makes the problem much more difficult ti solve. Any suggestions? I only can imagine that it has something to do with the diffenrent OS i run, on the workstation Win7/64, on the render node Win10. And the computers are linked with MS Remote Desktop to show the render node on my monitor if I want.
Regarding the error message, maybe this troubleshooting guide from Autodesk may resolve it.
I tried reproducing the other issue with no avail. For starters, check if it happens with other renderers. If you manage to reproduce it on a specific scene, please do send it to support@chaosgroup.com so we can take a look. Provide information about the steps taken to reproduce the issue. Also, mention your V-Ray and host platform versions along with a link to this thread.
Thank you fro your answer. On both machines 3dsMAX 2019.3 with VRay Next update 1.1 (4.10.02.00001). Additional I can say that I also have some trouble with the Remote Desktop of Microsoft. When I set my workstation to sleep mode while the render machine is connected i get a blue screen on the workstatione when I wake it up. So I have to disconnect the machines (connectet via ethernet with switch) first. If I find time in the next moth I will setup my workstation completely new with Windows 10 and the new versions of my AutoDesk Programs and VRay.
I forgot to mention that I have also scenes where the problem doesnt exist. Therefore I took some time for a deeper exporation. I really tried a lot. I checked where the linked AutoCAD drawings come from, I loaded the xref into a scene without this error, merges the render settings from a working file, deleted all the stored jobs in the backburner queue and so on. In short here is what the problem solved for me: I removed the Xref scene file from the scene and loaded it again. The problem vanished in the haze
I assume that it can be caused by my workflow to copy scenes which has XRef scenes in it to work on another image. May be this is the cause why you have to load the XRef scenes once more.
