Render Selected Viewport selection mode - looking through glass possible?

Is it possible to get object rendered that are behind any transparent material like glass in “Viewport selection” render selected mode?

lets say I have a glass railing and behind it I have a chair partially visible so if I select chair and render through the viewport selection mode I do not get the chair selection where the glass is overlapping it. is there any way I can do this in current 1.3 release?

Many thanks.

no, but you can do it in 1.4 (including release candidates) by unchecking “visible in masks” in the glass material

Thanks Ondra! when can we expect 1.4?

monday, maybe tuesday

how to do this is corona 14?

Hi Kuldev,

you can do this through the Advanced Options in your glass material.

Open your glass material’s Advanced Options and look for the “Propagate masks” dropdown.

You can read more about it here.

Unfortunately, this won’t work for viewport selection. It works for masking render elements, though. I don’t think it is possible to render an object behind glass when using render selected. Imagine that it would not be behind a glass railing but behind some more complex glass object like a vase. The refraction would be totally distorted and the render selected option would not consider that. I’m afraid masks are the only option.
