I want to render out the LINEs of the segments of a sphere… need a little grid pattern any ideas.

ah ha… thats it… I hate not doing this stuff for a while.. 
also… any suggestions on how to recreate the plasma effect seen here
Open in Photoshop
make a base black layer for easier viewing.
draw a thick maybe 1/4" white line going horizontal through the midle on a new layer. (or add a few lines with a small space in between to break it up a bit)
Using layer effects add a white outer glow to it
using the smudge tool push out areas untill you are happy with it
when happy with the look you want use the plastic wrap effect and adjust to where you like
finally I would use a seperate layer to colourise the plasma to what ever would suit my needs…
