Render trick for brighter metalls

Hi,

at Enscape I miss to use layered materials, for example for metalls. But I found a way against to dark metals, for example kickplates, door opener or … . It helps to add a little emissive amount, for example 20..40.

Here an example from my current project of a gold material where I add a gold colored emissive amount of 20 of 255. (Rhino)

Certainly a nice trick to give materials an extra brightness addition that they would not receive from their lighting environment alone  One thing to keep in mind is that the emissive intensity has to be chosen w.r.t. the current scene brightness. For a night scene, the materials could glow.

Thanks for sharing this insight!

Ahahahahahah taht is a wonderful trick indeed! Thanks for sharing!
