Rendered Views do not match Rhino 8 Viewport even though they are synced

The latest version of Enscape (4.19) is creating rendered views that do not respect the Rhino viewport when views are synced. These renderings should be an exact translation of aspect ratio and field of view of the Rhino viewport, but they are not. Enscape is generating renderings with giant, wide view angles and huge fields of view. I don’t want to switch to D5 in the middle of this project but I might have to!

@Applied_Visual_Chris Thanks for reporting this - it is a known issue with Enscape 4.19. Our developers are already investigating the issue, though at this time I can’t provide a concrete timeline for a fix.

In the meantime, I would recommend switching back to Enscape 4.18, as this issue is not present in that version. You can access previous versions of Enscape here in your Chaos account.

Thanks Helen. I appreciate your response very much. That’s exactly what I did; thankfully it worked easily, and I’m back on 4.18. Everything is fine for now.

Hi again Helen,

I wanted to mention a couple of other things; not to complain too much (!) but they are legitimate concerns.

The video export from Enscape as .MP4 does not play in the browser when uploaded to a typical web server. This likely has to do with an encoding issue. When I re-encode a video file exported from Enscape using VLC – crunching it again to MP4 format and losing quality – the file plays fine.

The other thing is that the video editor UI really needs help. I mean, MAJOR help. I want to use this all the time to share videos with clients, but its just terrible. I can go into detail if needed on a Zoom call, btu I’d much rather it just get better with less clicks to specify time code for each keyframe, and a logical left-justified timeline that sensibly demonstrates the addition of keyframes like every other typical video editing application.

Could you let me know where/how you are uploading the video? Then we can test it and check if this is a bug or a limitation.

Any updates on this? Problem seems to be still present in the 4.20 version, or actually gotten worse.

Someone found a workarround?(except a rollback in versions)
