Rendering hangs at 100%

This may have already been addressed in a previous thread but I’m not seeing it.

The render is all but finished, it hits 100% and VRay hangs. No system resources seem to be used, everything from Disk to CPU and Memory is inactive or nominal, but the frame buffer is frozen and hangs for 2-3 minutes before finishing. No buckets are working on a thing, just dead time.

Any known causes?

This does seem to ease up, sometimes it’s an issue, sometimes not. I’m concerned that it’s a hardware issue, I have 96Gb of RAM, unfortunately, I learned that it’s not the highest quality memory, maybe that’s the problem?

Thank you for any guidance.

ASUS Rampage V Edition 10
Nvidia RTX 4090
Intel i7 - 6800 @ 3.4GHz

what resolution are you rendering at? And what file format are using?

Thank you for the response, seandunderdale.

Rendering at 7284x4096
Saving to EXR (embedded), but not automatically. Just saving as needed from the VFB

Do you have VFB lens fx and denoiser / sharpen on?

That’s pretty high rez. Is it just taking a long time to write out AOVs etc? Minutes would certainly be a long time, but it can take a while especially if it’s over a network.

Edit: Never mind I see you’re saving manually.
