rendering reflections

Hello. I am new to corona and i have a problem. I hope someone can help me out.
I need to render a scene where i have an object that is ment only to cach reflections. so its transperant but has reflections of surrounding objeckts.
I cannot (dont want to ) render two passes, sins render will last about a week :frowning:
here is an image to explain it a bit better

xqKV26D8.html (21.8 KB)

In the image i have recreated what i need rendering in two passes - first rendering just the plane with reflective material, then the rest of scene then compositing in
photoshop with lightten layer blending mode. I need the same but so it is rendered in one go, not two passes.
I have tried shadow cacher material but it doesnt let me see thrugh to the scene (only black / white or background)
And i failled to get any results playing with rayswich material.
Any help would be aprisiated. Ma.

Hi,

The shadow catcher won’t let you see through it as it’s not designed for that. If i correctly understand what you want, the best option for you is to use regular material with full refraction and thin mode enabled. I used Corona legacy material since it lets you to have independent control over reflection and refraction glossiness. As for the environment setup, you would need to use rayswitcher here if you don’t want that your “reflection catcher” plane would catch reflections from HDRI. The scene is attached to the post.

Thank you very much! you saved me about a week of rendering time
