Rendering time 1050ti vs 1080ti ?

I have a pretty low spec setup CPU i5-4570 GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, and the rendering time is very high, for short animations it can take up to 24h .
How much would it help if i would buy a 1080ti GPU ? just an approximation would be helpful.
since GPU prices are sky high, and my income is very low, would it be worth it ?

Comparing cuda cores, 768 vs 3584, would the improvement be by 466% ? so in render time would that be 2h instead of 10h ?

the next gen of GPUs is probably gonna be available in May, so that’s a long time

You can use the V-Ray GPU benchmark to see the differences in performance:

You can see that a single 1050 Ti generally renders the benchmark scene for 3-4 minutes, wheres a single 1080 Ti renders in about 1-1.5 minutes.

And regarding the CPU, what maters most in VRAY, single-core speed or multi-core speed ? (Intel CPUs have better single core speeds, and AMD ryzen is better for multicore)

What would perform better with a 1080ti, an intel i7 8700k or a ryzen 7 1800 ?

We cannot advise about specific hardware models. You can take a look at each CPU model’s user-logged performance results (V-Ray Benchmark | Chaos) and compare accordingly.
Keep in mind V-Ray 3.6 for SketchUp is capable of utilizing both your CPU and GPU simultaneously during the render process, also known as Hybrid rendering - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/…dtheCUDAEngine.
