I’m using a version of SketchUp 2023 with the latest Enscape however disabling rest mode and restarting doesn’t seem to function.
I would have expected things like the wind effects to carry on running, but they just stop as normal

I was unable to reproduce this using the latest release, so right away I’ll have to ask if you might’ve perhaps turned the wind intensity to 0% in the Atmosphere tab of the settings and that is why you do not see leaves moving and such?

What happens is that the animations continue for a couple of seconds after moving the camera - then stop , just as they would when rest mode was on.
I’ve had a play and I think it is happening when the Enscape isn’t the active window - if I click another window or even my task bar - the animations stop. Maybe this is by design.
The animations do indeed stop once Enscape is out of focus. Further you can of course forward this as a feature request to still have restmode disabled even when Enscape is not actively selected, but at the moment this behavior is to be expected and not exclusive to Enscape 3.5.
