Revit and Enscape Textures

I’m having trouble with Revit loading the textures into Enscape for them to be displayed properly. Some of them show correctly and other do not. See attached files. Any ideas?

Notice the floor compared to the countertop.

Welcome to our Forum.

I’m afraid we do not support these procedural patterns in general (“Cut Pattern” “Surface Pattern”) which are setup via Revit’s material editor. Any such patterns you’d like to see applied would have to be imported as a texture file instead.

I reccomend to read through our detailed Revit / Enscape materials knowledgebase article here as well:

This should help with further questions that may come up as well, but if anything is still unclear thereafter please let me know too.

I have an issu that’s look like.
Sorry it’s in franche but : on revit in enscape :

People have been asking for the integration of Revit procedural materials into Enscape for years.

Will it ever happen?

Pardon me, but could you perhaps detail a bit further what exactly the issue is here? Do you perchance experience any material/texture issues and if so, could you kindly specify? In general feel free to also check out our dedicated Revit-Enscape materials knowledgebase article here which may clear up some further confusion/questions already.

We are aware of that but I’m afraid this is for now simply still a technical limitation as Revit itself does not translate the required technical information to us which would be used by Enscape to render these procedural materials as they appear in the Revit viewport. Just in case it may help, check out this online tool here as well which allows you make textures seamless to help with tiling.

Unfortunately, just having seamless textures doesn’t allow us to generate compelling, randomized patterns, specifically when attempting to showcase materials like carpet tile. Enscape doesn’t have that functionality within its own material editor, does it? Would it be a stretch for Enscape to provide its own procedural material building/editing to compensate for the loss in functionality?

Not going to happen. Use real-world materials. This is a well-written how to article. https://blog.enscape3d.com/revit-provided-material-options-for-enscape-users

Yes, it is kind of a huge ask. That is part of the “artistry” of rendering - figuring out how to create seamless textures without obvious repetition. A procedural texture generator is not going to allow you to create a “randomized” version of a specific manufacturer’s carpet tile anyway.

There are a number of tools/PS plug-ins that help create “seamless” textures, but since manufacturers never provide a large enough sample size, when you feed the sample in it just gets even more repetitive.

Look into the Adobe Substance suite to create procedural and large seamless textures. With developments in AI it is probably going to get a whole lot easier very soon.
