Revit > sketchup - best workflow?

Hi

Is there any good tips for “connecting” revit and sketchup?

We use revit most of the time, but for some work sketchup is a much better tool.

But i wonder if there is good way to somehow connect the two programs as an altertive to work on two models.

I have tried exporting as obj from revit and imported into sketchup using fluid obj import light, and it works fast and fine, but components / families gets exploded.

I have then tried importing as dwg, and then using the groupbylayer plugin, but it takes forever to convert…

Any tips for a good workflow?

thanks

Jorgensen

Hi Jorgensen,

I’m afraid I’m not aware of any better workflow to do this other than the ones you mentioned.

However, perhaps somebody in the community has found a better approach?
