Since updating to V-Ray NEXT, Rhino’s behaviour in the taskbar has been crippled.
If i disable the V-Ray plugin, it behaves like it should, it groups with other open instances in the position it is pinned, the jump list works fine, i can middle click/shift click to open a new instance etc.
This happens on both Rhino 5 and 6, running V-Ray 4.00.02
I hope that this functionality can be restored as it can make it difficult to find all open Rhino files, especially for users that don’t have the full window name shown and when there are many programs open.
It’s also a pain to loose the convenience functions like middle click and the jump list.
This change was intentionally introduced to help users determine more easily where each Asset Editor or VFB window belongs to if multiple projects are opened.
If you wish, you can revert this behavior using the environment variable VRAY_WINDOW_NO_COMBINE = 1 .
Hmm, figured that was why, it’s a shame you had to break some basic windows functionality to do it, I hope this can be improved. The environment variable override is great to know, thanks for adding that!
