Hey forum,
Is there a way to rotate an asset from the asset library within sketchup similar to the spacebar function in Revit? Is that a feature that would have to be native within sketchup? This would be so helpful with placing large rows of trees or even people for that matter.
Thanks -
You can use a plugin like Skatter (define the assets, define the covering with variation and click) or Chris Fulmer Scale and rotate (Place the assets, select and jiggle them about) or if you just want to do it manually you can place, select ([space]), use [S] to scale and [Q] to rotate.
Having the assets have some of this functionality built into them as you place them would be really nice (and is already a feature request).
Welcome to our forum and thanks for your inquiry!
As mentioned above by Gadget, there is also a dedicated feature request filed on our agenda to include scatter-like functionalities available for our Assets as well. I’ve added your upvote to the topic!
