I am running 5 machines, 4 being slaves running vray spawner. Currently I have an old 100mb switch and I am wanting to upgrade. Is a gigabyte switch of any value to me or is 100mb sufficient.
If you have all your textures being lifted from network drives, then I’d use 1000mbit switches. I’ve found the performance increase isn’t 10 times like you’d think, but it’s better than 100mbit for sure. All your cabling will be the same and will work with a gigabit switch, so you may as well change up. They are inexpensive also.

definitely worth the upgrade - the cost is pretty nominal for a 4port switch. At 4-5 ports you might even get a wireless router that will do the trick all in one.
