Same white material on all objects - walls looks gray?

Hi

I have created a very simple / basic model that consists of four walls, a floor and a roof. I have added the same white material to all surfaces.

When I look at the output from enscape I find the walls quite gray compared to the ceeling. Is this “realistic”? especially the wall in the back, that has direct sun - should’nt it be more bright?

Thanks

Can you create a Photoshopped Mockup of what you expect? Looks right to me. Do you expect the whole back wall to ve brighter because a small fraction of it is hit by light? Such a thing can not be observed on real light.

Jorgensen, you have several option to control the output you get with Enscape. Try checking out the options of automatic brightness, automatic contast and automatic exposure: sometimes to get a balanced output Enscape lose something on realism, but you can get it back on track if you do some things manually

Try changing your outside “ground” material to a dark material: you are getting a lot of ‘bounce’ from the white ground (The less saturated the better as it tends to bounce quite a bit of the saturation colour into the model.)

Thanks for the replies.

I made a new image - with other settnigs, as I don’t remember those from the first one.

I just wondered why there was such a huge difference in the lightning of the wall in the back, and the other surfaces, but in the new image, it looks less distinct, but I still wonder i it’s realistic that E is that brighter than C? It seems that D is not affect by shadows as C.

But some of it might be caused by optic illustions?

Not that big deal, I’m just wondering

C is mostly lit by outside ground bounce light since sky is occluded. D is illuminated by the bounced direct sunlight in the room. C and D have a different normal orientation with D pointes more towards the bright areas in the room.

TL;dr : looks right. ?

Thanks @Thomas_Willberger

just try render it with trusty renderer for example vray and u will see …
