"Sampling mask compression failed: Region is not strictly inside the bitmap"

1.6.1.

Any ideas? The Learn More button goes to a 404 page.

As far as I can see there’s no Corona region in use. There is a max region in use.

This is with DR on, with 3 nodes rendering in DR + my workstation. I can’t be sure but I don’t think those nodes are actually rendering the scene… I feel like they’re all rendering something outside the VFB, hence the error…?

It’s also rendering a chunk of the image outside the max region, which obviously isn’t right.

Can’t send image or max file unfortunately.

Can confirm identical issue.

Happens when:

-DR is used & 3dsMax region is used.

Same issue here. Rendering on 3 nodes + workstation. Max region used. Corona 1.6.1

Still getting this error. Right now I have a Max region in use plus a bunch of Corona Regions - all of which are inside the VFB (although some of them do hit the edge of the VFB). Same error message. DR is in use. It’s currently spitting out a load of random strips of data into the VFB, seemingly ignoring the Corona Regions.

Hi guys, is this still happening in 1.6 hotfix 3?

Can you explain what exactly you are doing to trigger this error?
-How is the max region configured?
-Is the region placed from the vfb, viewport,…?
-Is render mode set to “region”, “crop”…?
-Where is it placed? In the center, near image border?

DR logs could be helpful too:

We’re not able to upgrade to hf3 here yet due to lots of current jobs rendering, but we’ll take a look once we can. Perhaps someone else can test.

Cheers,

No problems in 1.6 hotfix 3 so far.

fixed the URL. No idea about the error though just yet

We did some fixed on this AFAIK. Is it still happening?

No problems with this issue for me since 1.6 hotfix3.

I can’t recall any such reports for some time.

Not noticed it so far in 1.7. Will report back here if we do. Cheers.

great
