"save in image" ocio VFB missing

Today I was working in Maya 2022 with Vray version 5.2 and after a reboot the “save in image” checkbox and other ocio info (like the path) has been missing from the VFB. This checkbox allowed me to save all the color corrected info with the image saved. Things i’ve tried:

I’ve reinstalled vray,
rebooted,
opened older maya files (that should have the checkbox)
launched maya 2026 with vray 7 (same problem)
deleted the maya prefs folder
in maya - preferences - color management - changed to another OCIO file.

I have no clue how to get it back. Any ideas?

Maybe you had some temporary environment variables set? Attach a screenshot to confirm we are on the same page.

The rollout is just hidden. Double-click the dotted part above the “properties” label.

That particular UI quirk has caught me out in the past. Seems like the VFB reverts to that configuration frequently. Once you know you know. Would be good to get it fixed, although it’s probably a problem with Maya’s ancient window system which is buggy across the board.

If you double-click to open/close the VFB UI menus, the configuration will be saved. If you drag menus open/closed, it will not.
