How are your other Gamma settings? Normally it should look something like this and when saving you use “use system default gamma”.
(At least thats how i’ve set it up and i don’t have gamma issues)
I always use this config and it works fine with .jpgs but when I save a .hdr (or .exr, I’m not sure, one of them) it comes out with doubled gamma correction so the only way to fix this is to set output gamma to 1.0. It’s kind of annoying, is there any proper way of saving 32-bit files with proper gamma?
Thanks. This can be a real pain in the ass if you forget to change it…
Yes, if you screw up LDR render. cause you cannot do much about jpeg in post…
But if you save .exr with 2.2 gamma and your “post processing software of choice” automaticaly assumes 32bit format comes in linear space and adjusts gamma again… Then you can still manualy inverse gamma with .454 value…
But I’d say, always render to 32bit format and always as linear…
