Hi,
Now that we can scale Vray area light, could the scale drives the U and V size? and the other way around as well.
Thanks,
Yannick

Hi Yannick. I guess this can already be down via the conenction editor in maya.
But it would be nice to have a little check box under the Use Tex option to link texture repeat uv to light scale.

The effect of the transformation scale and the U/V size is cumulative; they both have an effect. So if one drives the other, you’ll be effectlively applying the same scaling twice.

Hi Vlado,
thanks for your answer.
It just feels we now have to scaling way that are doing the same.
Maybe the UV size is now obsolete?
Well, technically when you create a cube, you can also use scaling to change its size, so you don’t need any parameters like length/width/height. Same for the sphere, torus etc. It’s just more convenient to have those parameters than not.
Best regards,
Vlado
ok fair enough
